Lesson from Our Beloved Summer
It’s been two months or more since Our Beloved Summer (OBS)finished airing. It was one drama that felt so relatable and very therapeutic to me personally. I got so many inspiring and corrective lessons too. So I’ll be sharing some lessons I learnt today.
Kim Da Mi who played Yeon-soo broke up with Choi Ung played by Choi woo Shik because she believed they were living different realities, she was poor and he was rich. She didn’t want to be vulnerable with Ung. She never wanted him to know her insecurities and struggles forgetting that in a relationship vulnerability is must. Being open with your partner strengthens the relationship, we live in a time where nobody wants to be that open, afraid their insecurities will be used against them. Without opening up to anyone how then are we living. The level of openness with people we meet differs. Surely a parents relationship requires a different level of openness to that of friendship.
Being open about things doesn’t make one weak it’s a sign that one is ready to take whatever comes as a result of being open, that you are willing to trust someone and your okay to process change.
